Deciding if the Roathe Lenticular Notebook suits your needs? We break down its art appeal, practical dimensions, and who it's best for.
Quick Answer
The Roathe Lenticular Notebook is a great pick if you want a functional notebook that doubles as a striking piece of Warframe art. Its ~7" x 10" size makes it practical for daily notes, but consider whether you prefer a dedicated art display piece or a more pocket-friendly option.
Why the Lenticular Effect Matters
Unlike a standard print, a lenticular notebook uses a special lens to shift the image as you move it, giving the Protoframe Roathe art a dynamic, almost animated quality. This makes the notebook stand out on a desk or shelf, offering a different visual experience than a static poster or pin.
The trade-off is that the effect is best appreciated in person and from the right angle. If you're buying primarily for the visual 'wow' factor, keep in mind that the effect is subtle when the notebook is closed and flat on a surface.
Practicality of the ~7" x 10" Size
The notebook's dimensions are close to a standard letter-size page, giving you ample room for writing, sketching, or planning. It's larger than a pocket notebook, so it's better suited for a desk, backpack, or tote than a pants pocket.
If you're looking for something to carry everywhere with minimal bulk, this size might be a bit large. But for a home or office notebook that you'll use regularly, the generous page size is a plus.
Decision Rules for the Roathe Notebook
- Buy if you want a functional art piece: Choose this notebook if you want to enjoy Roathe's art daily while having a usable notebook for notes, journaling, or sketching. The lenticular cover makes it a conversation starter.
- Consider size for portability: If you need a notebook that slips into a pocket, the ~7" x 10" size may be too large. Opt for a smaller notebook if portability is your top priority. Measure your usual bag or desk space to ensure the size fits your routine.
- Manage expectations for the lenticular effect: The effect is best viewed at an angle and in person. If you expect a constant, dramatic shift, you might be disappointed. It's a subtle, premium touch.
